A scouring amalgamation of sludge, black metal, death, and thrash. Tremolo shred turns on a dime to sledgehammer you with gargantuan, doom-laden riffs. The vocals, used sparingly and often submerged in the mix, come spitting up from the grinding hellscape like licking flames. Serial killers murmur in your ear. Bass and tom-heavy drumming push the already suffocating heaviness to King Kong levels. Only two of the six songs clock-in at less than 9 minutes, but they don’t ever feel stretched. New horrors reveal themselves often to keep you on your toes.
Listening to the album from beginning to end is recommended. As harrowing as it is, the world doesn’t seem quite as mean afterward. They’ve exhausted you of darkness and it’s a little bit easier to put aside your own hatred for mankind, if only for a while.
